Rowing is a team sport, but can be done alone. It requires dexterity and the ability to balance the oars to manage the direction of its boat. Some complete the task slowly, attempt to enter rough waters and drown, while others understand skill, depth, precision, and the difference between rowing through line item by line item of code and being outdoors working out the plans, previewing, selecting, and actually doing it. Some do it once and have their fun, while others return and compete across the world.
Some write fake stories and lie to the public, claiming they rowed across the world in 80 days and some fools save kids who don't learn to swim before they jump in the water. Instincts are to save a drowning child, without consideration of his/her bad behavior, worth, and enjoyment their presence brings. Other fools judge based upon how one or another looks.
One thing is for sure: Rowing Outdoors cannot be done while programming or developing indoors, but you can learn by watching. The experience is different, as is the outcome.
